Driver in critical condition after accident with train

Gonzales, LA – According to Chief of the City of Gonzales Police Department, Sherman Jackson, at approximately 6:40 a.m., on Monday, December 14, Harry L. White, 38, from Baton Rouge, was traveling eastbound on Felix Street when he crossed the railroad tracks. His Chevrolet pickup truck was hit by an oncoming train as it went through the city.

White was assessed for injuries on scene and transported to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital for moderate to serious injuries at the time. His status has since been upgraded to critical.

The City of Gonzales Police Department is still investigating this matter, and we will have an update when more information is made available.
