December collision with train sees Baton Rouge man arrested

Gonzales, LA – On Monday, February 22, the City of Gonzales Police Department made the arrest of 39 year old Harry Lee White of 11104 Lake Cypress Street, Baton Rouge, on charges of driving while intoxicated and reckless operation stemming from a December collision with a train in Gonzales.

At approximately 6:40 a.m., on Monday, December 14, White was traveling eastbound on Felix Street when he crossed the railroad tracks. His Chevrolet pickup truck was hit by an oncoming train as it went through the city.

White was assessed for injuries on scene and transported to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital for moderate to serious injuries at the time. As tests were run and the investigation continued, it became clear that White tested positive for marijuana. He was in critical condition until recently, and his arrest was made.
