Gonzales SORT
The Gonzales Special Operations Response Team trains constantly striving for perfection by using the most technologically advanced techniques and equipment available. Gonzales SORT was originally developed to supplement Gonzales Patrol Officers to handle volatile incidents, which are beyond the scope and training of the average patrol officer.
Training as a team and working as a single unit, mission orientated, The Gonzales SORT team, since its inception in 2003 has been called to service numerous times handling high risk search and arrest warrants, barricaded suspects, and suicidal suspects.
All members of the Gonzales SORT team along with the Gonzales Police Dept administration place the highest value on human life, and we train as hard as we do to save all lives involved in whatever incident we are responding to. |
Just recently Gonzales SORT contracted with Real World Tactical Solutions, owner and Chief instructor Commander Gene Paul Smith of Jacksonville Beach Police Dept to come to Gonzales and instruct the Gonzales SORT team an Intermediate 40 hr SWAT school, designed expressly for the Gonzales SORT Team. The class was designed to add all of the contributing factors of a real life call out including long hours simulating fatigue associated with the heat and hours spent in the heavy protective equipment. Concentration during the class was spent on clearing techniques, marksmanship skills, Night movements, and tubular assaults.
