Two Officers Compete in the 11th Annual Gulf Coast Police Motorcycle Skills Competition
On Nov. 7, 2009 Sgt. Jeff Rogillio and Ofc. Anthony Cantrelle competed in the 11th Annual Gulf Coast Police Motorcycle Skills Competition which was held at Cabela's. This was the first year of competition for Ofc. Cantrelle and the 3rd year for Sgt. Rogillio participating in the competition. Both officers competed against 130 other motor officers comprised of 30 different other agencies across the country including agencies from as far as Michigan, Wyoming, Ft. Lauderdale, Texas and Georgia to name a few.
The Gonzales Special Operations Response Team trains constantly striving for perfection by using the most technologically advanced techniques and equipment available. Gonzales SORT was originally developed to supplement Gonzales Patrol Officers to handle volatile incidents, which are beyond the scope and training of the average patrol officer.
Training as a team and working as a single unit, mission orientated, The Gonzales SORT team, since its inception in 2003 has been called to service numerous times handling high risk search and arrest warrants, barricaded suspects, and suicidal suspects.
